  • Christina Riva

    Independent & non-executive member

    Christina is the Board’s authority on compliance and risk management. As managing partner of Adresse Unique Sarl in Geneva, she has been providing regulatory advice, services, and training to assets managers for the past eight years. Prior to that, she was a member of senior management and secretary-general of EIM, an international financial group specialised in alternative and long-only asset management.

  • Pierre Devanthey

    Chairman, Independent & non-executive

    Pierre brings to the Gyra board his broad international banking experience. During nearly 40 years working for Swiss Bank Corporation, UBS, and Credit Suisse he held positions in Switzerland, the UK, and the US. His activities over the years in securities, corporate credit, commodity trade finance, and wealth management enabled him to acquire comprehensive banking knowledge, which he put to use to develop tailor-made solutions for his private, institutional, and corporate clients around the world.

  • Jean Kamitsis

    Vice-Chairman, Independent & non-executive

    Jean is a wealth-management professional with broad international experience, spanning markets in Southern Europe, Asia, and the Middle East over a period of 40 years. He is a senior banker and head of business development at Arab Bank (Switzerland) in Geneva and was formerly the bank’s head of wealth management. Prior to that, he worked for UBS Wealth Management and UBS Private Banking, developing their clientele around the world. Jean began his career as a trainee with Bankers Trust Company in New York and Bahrain.

  • Ayka Akin

    Executive, non-independent member

    Ayka has thirty years of experience in wealth management, most of it working within Swiss banks. Before founding Gyra in 2011, he held the position of Executive Director at UBS in Geneva.

    His vision to establish a genuinely independent asset management company led Gyra to apply for a FINMA license early on. In 2020, the company received a full FINMA license under the Collective Investment Scheme Act, making it one of the first ten percent of asset management companies to hold such a license.

  • Ayka Akin

    Partner & CEO

    Ayka has thirty years of experience in wealth management, most of it working within Swiss banks. Before founding Gyra in 2011, he held the position of Executive Director at UBS in Geneva.

    His vision to establish a genuinely independent asset management company led Gyra to apply for a FINMA license early on.   • Arda Acar

    Partner & CDO

    Before joining Gyra in 2022, Arda held the Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor position at Bank Julius Bär, where he worked for over 13 years. Prior, he held management positions at UBS and Credit Suisse and was Head of Asset Management for Koç Asset Management in Switzerland.

    As Chief Development Officer, Arda brings his broad knowledge of the wealth management industry to Gyra. He leads growth and the expansion of partnerships, portfolio management, and relationship management.

  • Sholem Mizrahi

    Senior relationship manager

    Sholem joined Gyra from Julius Bär, Geneva, where he was executive director of the bank’s Turkish team as of 2017. Prior to that he worked for five years at BSI Bank, Geneva, as senior vice president, creator of the Turkey and Israel desk and trusted advisor and portfolio manager to its rapidly growing clientele.

    Previously, he honed his skill in client acquisition at Banque Cantonale de Genève and Bank Leumi SA Genève, after a solid grounding in trade finance.

  • Ahmet Avcioglu

    Fund manager / Senior relationship manager

    Ahmet joined Gyra SA as Vice-President, Client Advisor and Portfolio Manager. He brings to this newly created role his deep understanding of global markets, which he has applied to the management of global-macro and emerging-market portfolios and investments for twenty-seven years.

    Most recently, he headed up the EM and fixed-income trading desk at Credit Suisse, London, after key positions with Bluecrest Capital Management and Brevan Howard. Prior to that, in London, he made his mark at JP Morgan, Merril Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
